ADVANCED GYMNASTICS (5 yrs+)
Advanced gymnastics is the secondary level of school-age gymnastics. Gymnasts must pass an evaluation to be placed into this class. In this class, gymnasts will continue to learn skills equivalent to levels 2 and 3 in USA Gymnastics. They will gain strength, confidence, determination, and teamwork skills. No classes week of *7/28-8/3*
BEGINNER LEVEL GYMNASTICS (6-10 yrs)
Beginner gymnastics will introduce school-age children to the basics and fundamentals of gymnastics. They will gain confidence in themselves, learn to work as a group, and develop listening skills.
Students will work on floor, vault, bars, and beam. They will work on level 1 skills as defined by USA Gymnastics. Skills on floor will include handstands, cartwheels, backwards rolls, forwards rolls, bridges, and kickovers. Skills on the bar will include pullovers, shaping, strength, and casts. Skills on beam will include walks, jumps, levers, and bravery. Vault skills will include stretch jumps on and off a springboard and handstand fall to hollow body hold.
INTERMEDIATE LEVEL GYMNASTICS (6-10 yrs)
Intermediate gymnastics is the secondary level of school-age gymnastics. Gymnasts must pass an evaluation to be placed into this class. They will gain strength, confidence, determination, and teamwork skills.
Students will work on floor, vault, bars, and beam. They will work on level 2 and 3 skills as defined by USA Gymnastics. Skills on floor will include back walkovers, front walkovers, handstand forward rolls, backward rolls to pushup, and round-offs. Skills on the bar will include back hip circles, shaping, swinging, strength, and squat-ons. Skills on beam will include jumps, turns, handstands, and cartwheel to handstand dismounts. Vault will focus on learning proper shaping and a handstand flatback vault onto a mat stack.
PRE-TEAM (5 yrs +)
Pre-Team is a tryout based, 90 minute class/week in addition to a recreational gymnastics class, which will focus on building a solid foundation of basic skills and the mentality required of a competitive gymnast. Gymnasts will be divided into levels A, B, C, or D. A being the basic level, D being the more advanced. All gymnasts will learn a simple vault, bars, beam, and floor routine throughout the sessions and present it multiple fun meets throughout the session. The program is perfect for children who have found a love for gymnastics as a sport and wish to expand their skills in hopes of making it competitive one day. Strength and flexibility is a crucial part of this program.
