KidSport in Sault Ste. Marie

Kidsport Canada was founded in 1993 to envision a Canada where all children have the opportunity to participate in sport.  Through KidSport Canada, there are 166 local and Province/Territory chapters located across Canada. KidSport SSM is a new charity chapter that was brought to life this past year by a group of caring and passionate individuals at a time when we saw a need for more kids in sports. The reality is that cost keeps 1 in 3 Canadian kids out of organized sport. When kids have access to sport they improve in school, become stronger leaders, create safer communities, ignite inclusivity and fuel healthy habits for life.

Through a confidential application process, KidSport SSM provides grants of between $250 - $500 to help cover sport registration and equipment costs so that all kids aged 18 and under in our community can play a season of sport.

Over 100 sports are eligible for KidSport grants, including dance! We are community-sponsored and funded. If you know any families who could benefit from the program, please direct them to our website below and encourage them to complete the application.
