Ashley Tremblay Studio Director + Teacher
Ashley Tremblay, Director of Studio Dance Arts and Marquette Gymnastics and Cheer, is a highly accomplished dancer and dance instructor passionate about the art form. Born and raised in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan, Ashley has dedicated her life to honing her skills and mastering various dance disciplines. Having trained extensively in Ontario, Ashley has successfully completed all levels of the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) certification, solidifying her technical foundation and expertise. She stands proudly as a testament to the rigorous training and discipline the RAD program demands.
Beyond her local training, Ashley has ventured onto the international stage, competing in dance competitions worldwide. Her exceptional talent and unwavering dedication have earned her recognition and respect from peers and industry professionals. Furthermore, Ashley holds the distinguished honor of being accepted into both the Quinte Ballet School and Interlochen Fine Arts Programs. These prestigious institutions have provided her with invaluable experiences, exposing her to diverse artistic perspectives and strengthening her artistic versatility.
With an impressive teaching career spanning 22 years, Ashley has nurtured the next generation of dancers across all disciplines. Her students benefit from her wealth of knowledge, guidance, and genuine passion for dance. Along with her background in dance, Ashley holds the following certifications: USAG certified, CPR, First Aid, AED, and head concussion. She is also a Safe Sport certified instructor. She ensures the safety and well-being of her students, prioritizing their growth and development in a nurturing environment.
In addition to her teaching endeavours, Ashley has established and successfully managed a dance studio for the past decade. As well as expanding in offering gymnastics to the community thru Marquette Gymnastics and Cheer. And most recently expanded to offering Dance and Gymnastics in Munising. This venture has allowed her to create a welcoming space for dancers and Gymnasts of all backgrounds to thrive and explore their potential. Under her leadership, the studios and gym have become a hub for artistic expression and a driving force within the local dance and gymnastics community.
Ashley continues to make significant contributions to the world of dance and gymnastics, inspiring countless individuals with her remarkable talent, unwavering dedication, and infectious enthusiasm. Jayme L'Huilier Dance Teacher
Jayme teaches Recreational and Competitive students of all ages and skill levels. Jayme has danced for over 23 years. In her childhood she attended many dance competitions, and was a captain of the Marquette Senior High School Dance Team. Jayme attended Northern Michigan University and was a member of the NMU Dance Team. On the NMU Dance Team she competed at both regional and national levels. Jayme was the coach of the MSHS Dance Team from 2018-2023. Jayme began teaching at Studio Dance Arts in 2018. She currently teaches Recreational Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, and Pom, as well as Competitive Company 2. Jayme also choreographs solos and group routines for competitive students in all styles of dance. Her classes focus on technique, strength, teamwork, and fun. She works hard to find what teaching methods work best for each individual student, and strives to make her classroom a safe and inclusive space for all.
Lauren Goodman Dance Teacher
Lauren Goodman is a ballet and contemporary dancer and instructor from Ohio. She grew up dancing in Gem City Ballet pre professional company where she performed leading roles in Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, Cinderella, and many more. She then majored in dance at Wright State University on scholarship while working with Dayton Ballets Second Company where she performed with the company in The Great Gatsby and The Nutcracker. Following her sophomore year of college, she moved to San Francisco to dance as a trainee with Alonzo King Lines Contemporary Ballet Company. Lauren has since spent the past few years teaching and choreographing in Los Angeles and Marquette, as well as all over the country with American Dance Training Camp. Currently, Lauren is back in school at Northern Michigan University majoring in Sports Science with a pre-physical therapy focus and a dance minor, as she pursues her Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
Kylie L'Huillier Dance Teacher
Kylie has been dancing since she was three years old. In 2019, she completed her last official year of studio dance at Studio Dance Arts. During her time at SDA (2014-2019), Kylie participated in the Competitive and Competitive-Rec programs. She has also participated in Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Ballet, and Acro classes. Through Dance Team, Kylie picked up more dance styles, such as Pom, Kick, and a new love for Hip Hop. In her time at SDA, Kylie attended many competitions and various opportunities through the studio. In her schooling, Kylie participated in the Marquette Senior High School Dance Team for all four years. While attending Northern Michigan University, Kylie was a part of the NMU Dance Team for three years and was a captain for the 2022-2023 season. Through the NMU Dance Team, Kylie expanded her dance knowledge and experience. At the studio, Kylie has been working with students in private lessons and solos and serves as an occasional substitute. Currently, Kylie is student teaching in Marquette and finishing up her degree at Northern Michigan University.
River Harrison Dance Teacher
River is an experienced teacher and has fostered a love of all types of dance for over 20 years (though tap holds a special place in their heart). They grew up dancing competitively, placing at national competitions in Tap, Jazz, and Pom. River has experience teaching students of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. They received training in the American Folk Dance program at BYU while obtaining their bachelor's degree. River moved to the UP in 2024 and has taught in Iowa, Utah, and Arizona.
Tami King Administration
Tami King does administration for Studio Dance Arts and Marquette Gymnastics Center. She and her family relocated to Michigan five years ago from California. In California, Tami owned and operated a successful dance studio and dancewear store for eight years. For the past three years Tami has enjoyed supporting students, families, and staff by helping both organizations run smoothly and continue to grow.
